What the site stores
This site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no comment system and no forms that send data to us. The calculator runs entirely in your browser; the numbers you type in are not transmitted anywhere and are not stored after you leave the page.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count page views and use of guides, tools and product links. We will never send the bill amounts, rates or appliance figures you enter into the calculator to an analytics service. We do not label a click on an Amazon link as a purchase; only Amazon knows whether a purchase happened.
We also count page visits and clicks using a first-party service. It records the page path, referring website, general location and device type, with a random identifier stored for the browser tab. For clicks on links and buttons, it records the type of click, the page and the link destination, with no names, emails or other personal details. It does not store your IP address, calculator inputs or the query strings of the pages you visit. This tracking skips browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
Amazon links
When you click a product link, you leave this site and Amazon's own privacy policy applies. Amazon may set cookies to attribute a purchase to this site for its affiliate program. We receive aggregated earnings reports from Amazon, not information about individual shoppers.
Cookies
Google Analytics can use cookies to distinguish visits. Your browser's cookie and tracking settings control whether those cookies are accepted.
